Borage for Better Sleep

Sleep Better with Borage!

The Story behind Borage

In 1611, Mattioli the herbalist wrote a curious summary regarding the benefits of anxiety and borage oil, "It strengthens the heart and vital spirit, takes away anxiety, depression and grief." Borage has been known for thousands of years in the Mediterranean region and middle-east for its calming and anti-anxiety effects.  Many centuries later, scientific studies are discovering that borage oil may help in the treatment of anxiety and mood disorders.

Borage is an All Natural Calming Ingredient that Reduces Anxiety Symptoms

"Dr. Mahjoubi has created a proprietary blend that combines known plant-based sleep aids with a time-honored ingredient, Borage.  After reading about various studies and its effects on the nervous system, Dr. Mahjoubi, a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist, mixed Borage with Valerian and L-Theanine. He then followed his patients who volunteered to try the blend.  After trying different dosages of each ingredient Dr. Mahjoubi settled on a blend that proved to be effective in a significant number of his patients.

How does Borage work?

The unique properties of borage oil are believed to help combat anxiety. Borage oil contains the highest percent of gamma-linoleic acid compared to primrose oil and black current seed oil, all natural sources of GLA. The human brain is predominately made of fats. Over 20 percent of human brain fat consists of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

Other benefits of Borage:

  • Borage has also been used as an anti-inflammatory. The monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats in borage oil can have antioxidant effects on the body, helping relieve inflammation and oxidative stress, thus lowering the risk of chronic disease
  • With a huge range of fatty acids and the highest known level of gamma-linolenic acid, this oil is extremely good for heart health
  • Pain: Omega-6 fatty acids, which are found in high levels in borage oil, are able to control prostaglandin production, which regulates inflammation throughout the body. Gamma-linolenic acid is also directly linked to lubricating the joints, making it an ideal remedy for those suffering from rheumatoid arthritis.
